As of last week - the RAPIDFIRE Call of Duty 4 division has re-formed with a new lineup. Dawson, LaduxB, CYZLAK, MaNiC and Oliver form the core5 and the guys will be competing in CyberGamer Open Season 4 - which went live a fortnight ago. Due to increased internal demand, a general division lineup will also be playing on the GameArena ladder.
I spoke to core5 skipper and relative newcomer to RAPIDFIRE, Dawson, about the upcoming competitive season and he had this to say.
CYZLAK: With the reformation of the COD4 division recently, how do you think the lineup is looking?
Dawson: After scrimming a bunch of teams over the last few days and finalizing the core 5, I reckon we have a good chance of getting up to the top of the CGo ladder and giving it to some of the leading CGo teams.
CYZLAK: Great, sounds like you're aiming high for CGo. You have been one of the key players leading up to the division re-forming; how are you finding the team captaincy role?
Dawson: I really enjoy being a part of rFire# Core5 division & being the captain of the division. Leading the team I suppose can be a challenge with some calls etc - but being a new team there is a lot of teaching each other new positions, spots etc. I just hope the 2 year experience I have in FPS gaming can help the team succeed.
CYZLAK: How has the team found the transition to ProMod v3 compared to the old Cybergamer standard of PAM4? Which do you prefer and do you think it's an improvement for competitive play?
Dawson: In my opinion the team has adjusted well to ProMod v3 compared to the PAM 4 play style and even general pub play style. I think that ProMod is much better for competitive play than the PAM4 mod - and I would play ProMod over PAM any day.
CYZLAK: Thanks for your time Dawson, and good luck to you and the guys in CGo Season 4.
