| I know that most scrims or freeplay matches don't have all of these rules, but in case we get in a real match this'll be important otherwise we forfiet and lose, which would be shit-ness. Team Size Gameplay is 5 v 5. * Teams with less than four players in the applicable GameCreate server 10 minutes after the booking time has elapsed are deemed to have automatically forfeited the match. * Should any team drop below four players at any point during a match, that team is deemed to have forfieted the match. o "drop below" means the player(s) were no longer physically in the server. i.e. the status list. o Players are not to type "retry" at any point during actual matchplay. Team Names * Team Names are to comply with the GameArena Terms and Conditions (http://www.gamearena.com.au/help/tandc.php) & GameArena Code of Conduct (http://www.gamearena.com.au/help/code.php) * Teams must NOT use inappropriate names, weblinks or name tag stealing. o This includes using: + offensive, + abusive, + racist, + known cheating clans ([myg0t] etc), + discriminatory, or + otherwise inappropriate language or weblinks in a player's online nickname or clan tag. * Team Names and Tags that breach this rule will cause the entire team to be INSTANTLY deleted from the GameArena Counter-Strike Source Ladder. Note: The GameArena Ladder Admins will have the final decision on what consitutes an Inappropriate Clan Name / Tag. Starting Time * The match is to commence not later than 10 minutes AFTER the GameCreate server has come on line. * Should your team (of four players minimum) be in the server and the opposing team does not arrive (with four players minimum) within 10 minutes of the booking time or server starting time (whichever occurs first) the opposing team forfeits. o If you intend on forfeiting the other team DO NOT PLAY IN THE LADDER. o If you decide to play, disputes based upon the Starting Time Rule will not be accepted. * Players are required to keep their STEAM installations up to date. o Excuses such as "I had to wait for STEAM to update" is not a valid reason. o You are required to make sure you have a working version of Counter-Strike Source before the Servers’ start time. * In the case of disputes arising under the "starting time" rule, ladder admins will check the server logs. o ANY team that does not have the minimum four players in the server, on the correct team (Terrorist or Counter-Terrorist) within 10 minutes of the booking time or GameCreate server starting will be deemed to have forfeited the match. * In the event of a GameArena Server malfunction such as: o the server not coming up at all; o the server not coming up on time; or o constant server crashing; o any other miscellaneous GameArena issues; * Teams must decide whether to play on or call it a draw. In the event of a dispute the ladder admins will decide. o In most cases the match will be cancelled. * Teams are NOT to use servers other than GameArena GameCreate Server that has been created for your match. * In the event of widespread STEAM problems that make it impossible for players to login or players to download updates within a reasonable time period, then disputes maybe lodged, each dispute will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Format * This ladder uses the MaxRounds 15 format (each half consists of 15 rounds irregardless of who wins them). There is a 1.5 hour timelimit; round time is 1.45 minutes. * The teams must play the selected map once as Terrorist and once as Counter-Terrorist. Each ”half” is played until 15 rounds have been completed (regardless of who wins them). * The map selected to be played on cannot be changed [to a completely different map] once the applicable GameCreate server has started. * The higher ranked/defending Team gets its choice of side for the first half. In the finals, the same rule will apply but will be based on that side’s final standing's at the end of regular seasons competition. * At the end of the first half teams will be required to change to the opposite side and then after a brief warm-up (maximum of 5 minutes) continue the game. * Once a team has won 16 or more rounds they have won the game. * A draw (15-15) is a valid result in the ladder. * Servers are setup to run for 1.5 hours from the booking time, which is plenty of time for a war to be completed if the rules are followed. However, for reasons outside of GameArena's control, the server may not be available at the exact starting time. * If the server does not come up within 45 minutes of the scheduled start time the war will be cancelled, regardless of whether the war is completed or not. * If the server does comes up within 45 minutes from the scheduled start time then the war may proceed. * The onus will be on the challenging team to do whatever it takes (within the confines of the rules) to ensure that the game is completed within the remaining server time. * The defending team may play (within the confines of the rules) their first half in any manner they see fit. If a game is not completed within 1.5 hours the current score will be taken. o For example, if the current score is First half: [8 - 7], Second half: [2 - 1] the final score will be submitted as [10 - 8]. * At the end of each half, the team captains will take a screenshot of the scoreboard. Results At the completion of a match * Both teams must visit the 'View Challenge' page and enter (or dispute) the match result. * Results are entered independently - the defender is not required (and should not) wait for the challenger to enter a result. * If both teams enter identical results - the match result will be accepted at 4:00AM the next day. * Rankings/protected/vulnerable status will all be updated if required. * Both teams have up to two hours after the completion of the match to enter the result. * All match results will now be processed the day after the match at 4:00AM AEST, regardless of when the teams enter results. Disputed Results * If either team chooses to submit a dispute, the match is marked 'Disputed' and timeouts no longer apply. * If both teams enter results, but they are different, the match result will be disputed at 4:00AM the next day. The match will be marked as disputed; team captains will receive an e-mail detailing the dispute. Forfeits * A game that has been accepted by a defending team must be played at the scheduled time on the agreed map. * The team that fails to play at the scheduled time will be deemed to have forfeited the match. * Each team requires at least four players to begin play. * If the defender enters a result within 2 hours but the challenger does not, the defender will be awarded a forfeit-win the next day at 4:00AM. * If the challenger enters a result within 2 hours by the defender does not, the challenger will be awarded a forfeit-win the next day at 4:00AM. * If neither team enters a result, the defender will be awarded a forfeit-win at 4:00AM the next day. This mirrors the current behaviour - the challenger must enter a result to avoid a forfeit. Note: * Please check the results before submitting them! This is the main cause of all disputes so try to be careful. Challenging When challenging, you must select: * 3 different maps and * 3 different challenge times that are not within the same half hour. o i.e. 18:00, 19:00 & 20:00 are valid challenging times, o but 18:30, 19:00 & 20:00 will be rejected by the system and you will be required to choose different times. Challenge Height The challenge height is 50% of the teams current ranking, or 10 rungs - whichever is higher. Maps The following maps will be used: * de_aztec * de_cbble * de_clan_mill_beta * de_dust2 * de_inferno * de_nuke * de_train Team Ownership * Team Ownership cannot be transferred, except as follows: 1. If the Team Founder Retires within the Teams first season the Team will be deleted. Don't create Teams unless you are prepared to play out the Teams first season. 2. In subsequent seasons if a Team Founder Retires, the Team may continue so long as: 1. the Team founder is replaced by an active member who was active for 80% of the Teams previous regular season; 2. the team also has one other remaining member who was also active for 80% of the Teams previous season; 3. both these players remain active for the current regular season. 3. So long as the team Founder is with the Team and the Founder remains active for the current regular season the Teams line up can change in any form it so wishes. 4. In any other case, if the team Founder resigns, the team will be deleted from the GameArena Ladder. Notes * Intention of Team Ownership Rules: o Stop people creating teams then resigning from the Team. If they can't stick it out for a single season then they shouldn't have created the Team in the first place. Don't join Teams with unstable leaders. o Stop people taking over a high ranked Team by replacing the Team with players who never were responsible for getting the team to the ranking it is at. o Allow a process so teams can be taken over internally by players responsible for the teams current ranking so a Team founder need not stick around for multiple seasons. We do not expect a Team founder to spend the rest of their lives in a Team for the Team to stay alive. o Ensure players who were responsible for the Teams end of season rank actually be the players who play in the finals. Not a bunch of Pro Lanners or whatever has happened in the past. o Ensure the players in the Team are actually active as this is also what occurs, the founder stays, but is inactive. The team is meant to be made up of active players not a bunch of ring-in's or Team take-over and the Team founder who doesn't actually take any part in the Teams wars. * Teams found breaking the Team Ownership Rule will be deleted. Team Members/Mercenaries * You can only be a member of 1 team on the GameArena Counter-Strike:Source Ladder. * Players may not have multiple GameArena Accounts and/or STEAM_ID's or otherwise try and circumvent this rule. * Players who fail to comply with this rule will have ALL their GameArena Accounts and STEAM_ID's banned from ALL GameArena services. * Only players marked on your current roster may play in the match. * Using players not on your official GameArena Team Roster will result in your Team being removed from the GameArena Counter-Strike:Source Ladder. * At a specified time before the finals start the rosters will be locked and no players will be able to be added to the teams rosters. * Only players who have played for their Teams at least once in the current regular season will be allowed to compete in the finals for their Team. (See Finals section for more info). * All team members are required to submit the STEAM_ID they will be using when playing on the GameArena Counter-Strike:Source Ladder. This can be done here: http://www.gamearena.com.au/account/options.php/steamid * Players must use the STEAM_ID they registered against their GameArena player name. * All players must log in using the Official GameArena "The Arena" Client software with the GameArena nickname they have registered against their STEAM_ID. * Team members MUST use their Registered GameArena nickname as they appear on their GameArena profile (Under Nickname) at the time the challenge e-mail is sent. * Teams that have players who cannot manage to use names that reasonably match their Registered GameArena nickname, will be forfeit in the event a dispute arises for any reason. This may result in both teams being forfeit in the event multiple breaches occur. * Permissible names are listed on the ViewChallange Page. Player Substitutions * If a player drops out during a game the game must go on and the player is to rejoin play as soon as is possible. o If the player(s) fails to return it is at the discretion of the player's captain to continue the game or forfeit. * Players may not substitute during gameplay. o However, teams may switch their lineup (or bring in a new player) at the half-way point of the match (i.e. when competitors switch sides). Server Crashing In the event of a server crash: * If under 3 rounds have been played, the half is restarted. * If 3 or more rounds have been played, the half is restarted but the score retained. * A round is complete as soon as the game says "Terrorists Win" or "Counter-Terrorists Win" Note: If the server crash is found to be malicious, GameArena will take legal action against any and all users found to be involved. In Game Chat * All Players are allowed to use Global Chat [messagemode] BEFORE the war starts, and after the war has completed or result achieved, whichever comes first. * No Global Chat [messagemode] will take place between either team. o Except the 2 Captains at any other time, including the half time interval and regardless of whether the players are alive or dead. * Only Team Captains are allowed to use in game Global Chat [messagemode] to communicate with the Opposition during the game. o The nominated team captain should wear a "[c]" tag at the end of their nick if they intend on using Global Chat [messagemode] for the duration of the war, and that player must not change unless the nominated team captain drops from the server. * Team members are only allowed to use Teamsay [messagemode2] Chat during the war. * We advise that players who are not captains unbind their Global Chat [messagemode] keys so no accidents occur. Note: * Nobody is permitted to use RCON SAY Chat at any stage other than to signify the start of each half. * Repeated failure to comply with this rule will result in the infringing Team forfeiting the match. * GameArena Ladder Admins will have the final decision on what constitutes a breach of the In Game Chat rule. Third Party Voice Clients * Third Voice Clients may be used. Note * GameArena makes no guarantee that GameArena provided voice chat services will be available for use when a team has a war. * In the event that voice chat services as provided by GameArena or any other party is unavailable, matches will be played as scheduled. SourceTV * By entering the GameArena ladder you agree to have your game available for spectators via SRCTV. If you do NOT agree with this term you must not enter the GameArena Counter-Strike:Source Ladder. Note: * We do not guarantee SRCTV support for any or all matches. If you'd like SRCTV, arrange with the other team to provide it. In-Game Exploits The following section should clarify what is and what is not allowed to occur within gameplay: * 'Boosting' (jumping on the head of a team mate to reach a higher point) is allowed so long as the player remains within the correct map boundaries. o for example: Boosting to ledges on Dust2 & Aztec is allowed. * Players are to use VALVe's default models for everything * Map specific exploits (for eg, Skywalking, Flashbang Bugs) are not permitted. o Any team found utilising such exploits* deliberately will be removed from GameArena Counter-Strike:Source Ladder the player(s) involved may be banned permanently from GameArena. * Gameplay specific exploits (for eg, deliberate weapon muting, silent bomb planting, planting the bomb in impossible to reach places (not including places reached by boosting) are not permitted. **Any team found utilising such exploits* deliberately will be removed from GameArena Counter-Strike:Source Ladder the player(s) involved may be banned permanently from GameArena. * Grenades may be thrown over the tops of walls and buildings. o for example: dust2, inferno, cbble. * Strafe Jumping to reach places not normally accessible to a single player is allowed. o for example: the crate on de_cbble. * Strafe Jumping (Bunny Hopping) for the purposes of moving around the map quicker is not allowed. |
