Ventrilo Setup Guide

Ventrilo is the voice program the clan uses to communicate with each other during wars, scrims, pubs and whatever else.

1. Ventrillo Download Page Link - You will only need the Windows i386 - 32bit download

2. Install it.

2a. Vista Users Only:
If you cannot talk in-game you need to edit the ventrilo shortcut and enable "run as admin".

3. Open the program:

3a. USER NAME- Click New:
Put in your username. Please use the same name as you will be using in-game. Phonetic is the "computer voice" version of the name, so you can set that up as well.

3b.Server- Click new:
Hostname or IP: vent19.gameservers.com
Port: 4214
Password: There is no password required for this stage.
I have Accept Page Requests and Allow others to record unticked, and User-To-User, Private Chat Requests and Login Name ticked.

3c. Bindings: I have none

4. Click Connect
It will connect you to the Ausbattlefield.com Ventrilo.

5. Connect to our 03. rapidfire channel
Double-Click "Gaming". It will ask for a password. Contact a captain, or other member of the clan for the password.

6. Click "Setup:

6a. Voice Tab
This is what I use: Voice Tab Screenshot. Note the push to talk boxes on the left, and the "play key clicks" disabled.

6b. Choice of "Push To Talk Key" I use left-alt, as that button is generally not used in any online games. I've also used the side mouse buttons occasionally but not recently. You can leave those buttons unticked to use voice activation but I prefer the control of push to talk.

6c. Events Tab:Click the "ALL NOTHING" button. Then change "Comments" to "Text-to-Speech".

6d. Other Tabs: The only other tab I can think to change/check would be the MISC tab and have "Minimize to System Tray", "Silent Blank Comments" and "Auto Expand" are ticked.

That should have you up and running, assuming your microphone and speaker settings are correct.
